Our Courses & CPD
DentalVets are a major course provider in the UK and Ireland. We also provide the lectures and clinical instruction for the Universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and London Veterinary Colleges. We can provide courses for your practice personnel in your premises.
Dental CPD by DentalVets
We provide courses for vets and nurses in our own referral clinic. These courses are designed for small groups and are highly practical. Your practice can arrange specifically targeted CPD for a small, focused group or a larger, general group. In addition, delegates can book singly. These are run monthly in North Berwick. Foundation course concentrate on essential skill that vets and nurses require to provide up to date dentistry in their own practice. including dental radiography, extraction technique, advanced periodontal surgery etc. Advanced courses are available for those individuals who already possess the basic skills of the foundation course. The course bochure can be download . See below if you require local accommodation. North Berwick is 30 minutes from Edinburgh by train or car. The airport is 45 minutes away. The nearest main-line station is Dunbar. An article by John Bower BVSc MRCVS ( ex president BVA and BSAVA) whose practice has used these course was published (July 2003) in Veterinary Times. A copy is attached to the FAQ sheet. Costs are £350 plus VAT per vet and £300 plus VAT for nurses. Discounts are available for practices that book exclusive days. North Berwick CPD
We can arrange accommodation if required in the local area. We can provide a list of B&B's of local pet-friendly hotels . For families the McDonald Marine Hotel is worth a look. It is a lovely Victorian hotel with new pool and leisure centre located on the 16th fairway of the world famous North Berwick Golf Club and 100 metres from the beach. North Berwick is an ideal family location with beach, sailing, bird watching, golf and fishing all available locally. The award winning Scottish Seabird Centre opened in May 2000 and is now a major tourist attraction in the town. Another "must see" is the National Museum of Flight which is a few miles south. It is the location for the first operational British Airways Concorde aircraft Guest lecturers from USA, Canada and Europe are regular contributors. E-mail us for a FAQ sheet. BVDA Courses The BVDA also hold courses through the year. For 2008 a number are currently planned. These include Oral Radiology, Oral Investigation, Oral Surgery (extraction) and Feline Oral Medicine and Surgery. Courses are held in the north and south of England.
